I’ve done ice skating twice this year. My performance exceeded my own expectations. And I had fun doing it. So I’ve decided to take another skating class from the Park District to make my fundamentals more solid.

The first time I attempted ice skating was in Västerås, Sweden, around Christmas of 1999. I didn’t have my own skates so I borrowed from Maria’s dad. To help me overcome the first frightening and intimidating stage, Malin had me pushing Benjamin’s stroller on the ice:)

I took my first ice skating class in 2003. And I also bought roller blades (inline skating, I guess). I think my practice with roller blades helped my ice skating somewhat.
