My name is Haidong Ji. I was born in Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province, China. This is my name in Chinese: 季海东. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in International Finance from Xiamen University and Master of Science degree in Economics from Illinois State University. There is a little more information about me in this post. I live and work in the United States.
I focus on Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle on both Linux/Unix and Windows platforms, and database interoperability issues. For what it’s worth, I am a MCSD, MCDBA, and CMDBA for MySQL.
I am also a co-author of three books: Professional SQL Server 2005 Integration Services, Professional SQL Server 2005 Administration, and Professional SQL Server 2005 Performance Tuning. I was technical editor of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Administration with Windows PowerShell
I have also presented at various user group meetings and conferences: SQL Server European conference (PASS) and local user group meetings.
In addition, I open sourced a server metrics collection application called JiMetrics using Windows PowerShell and SQL Server a few years back. Currently it only collects Windows server information.
